In the concluding episode to the last seasons cliffhanger episode, the Enterprise is unable to prevent the Borg from reaching Earth but another encounter with Borg leads to Picards rescue and Data uses Picard to find the weaknesses of the Borg. In Family the Enterprise returns to Earth and the crew meet their family and deal with the recent trauma.
