All You Need For Perfect Pitch!

Choose the mode best suited to your instrument or need. The instrument choices are ‘Guitar’, ‘Bass’, ‘Ukule’ (ukulele), BJ (banjo) and ‘Violin’. Choose ‘Chro’ for chromatic tuning or ‘F’, ‘Bb’ or ‘Eb’ for wind instruments that are tuned in those keys.

Easy Instrument Tuning for the Beginner or Advanced Player

Your Tune Mate works via vibration, so you need to affix (clip on) the unit to your instrument. Choose somewhere that it can easily clip on to width wise and just as importantly, so you can see the display.

  • At the top of the display is the accuracy gauge that will indicate when the string/note is in tune. The display will go green, and a single arrow will point to the centre ‘0’ when perfect tune for the played string/note is reached. If multiple arrows appear to the left (-50, -20, etc.) area of the display the string/note is below perfect pitch and vice versa. Adjust the string or tuning mechanism accordingly and watch the screen for accuracy.
  • For string instrument tuning via the mode options the display will show the note and to the left of this the string number/position for that instrument. For chromatic and wind instrument tuning just the note will be displayed.

Quick Set Up...

  • Turn the circular battery compartment lid at the rear of the unit clockwise. Do this either by using the small protruding lugs or placing a coin in the groove. Place the battery in the compartment positive (the side with the writing on) side up and slide in from right to left to fit the battery underneath the small piece of metal on the left-hand side. Replace the compartment lid and secure by turning anticlockwise.
  • Hold the unit screen side down in your hand. Turn the pivot arm at the base of the rear of the unit so that the circle with the groove is pointing upwards. Take the clip and position the orange circular hole over the circle on the unit’s pivot arm. Apply pressure to the clip from above by pushing downwards to secure the two pieces together. You will hear a ‘click’ to know that this has been done.
  • Turn on your Tune Mate by holding down the small button on the rear of the unit. To choose the mode required, lightly press the same button to scroll the options displayed at the bottom of the screen. To turn off the unit, hold down the button until the unit’s screen shuts off. If left on your Tune Mate will turn off automatically after three minutes of inactivity.
