Trinity College Concertinas! These handcrafted instruments are authentic reproductions of the original instruments introduced in the early 19th century in England and Germany. Trinity College offers both of the two major types-the, Anglo and English models. The Anglo model is a “bisonoric” design-much like today’s harmonica-where a different note is produced by the “push” and “pull” motion of the bellows. This type of mechanism lends itself perfectly to many styles of ethnic or “folk” dance music.
Anglo concertinas are perhaps the most widely known. Although it is possible to play tunes in any key, they are often played in C and G. These instruments have hand straps on either end. Each button will produce one note on the draw and a different note on the press.
The Trinity College AP-1230A has all the features and craftsmanship of a classic turn-of-the-century instrument at a moderate cost. These instruments are lightweight, portable, and easy to learn.
