COMPANY STORY

In March 1915, Mosaburo Makita, founded MAKITA ELECTRIC WORKS in the city of Nagoya, a store specialized in the marketing and repair of electric motors and transformers.

Over the years, the initial company undergoes several transformations.

In the 1940s, the facilities change places and it is established on a new plant in Sumiyoshi-Cho, in the city of Anjo.

In the 1950s, more specifically from January 1958, electric brushes began to be marketed, the first in Japan.

From there, and over the years, Makita has become one of the largest manufacturers of electroportable tools, with 11 manufacturing plants spread around the world and a large number of subsidiaries.

With a selection of over 500 top-quality models and manufactured using the most advanced technology, Makita currently offers a wide range of battery-powered tools.
