Description

Colored filters can bring out details on a planets surface or in its cloud structure. All planetary filters included in the Celestron Eyepiece Filter Kit can be used with any 1.25 inch eyepiece with matching threads. So they are very versatile. Simply screw one onto your eyepiece and insert it into the accessory holder. This Celestron filter kit includes the following colors: 80A blue: enhances the contrast of Jupiters cloud belts and Saturns polar caps. It can also be used to increase contrast on the Moon if the color change doesnt bother you. Orange 21: accentuates the boundaries along the plains of Mars by reducing blue/green transmissions. Use on Jupiter and Saturn to highlight details of belts and polar regions. 12 Dark Yellow: A good versatile filter for telescopes with smaller aperture (less than 4.5 inches), the yellow No. 12 will enhance the contrast of the Moons details. It will also allow you to observe the equatorial belts of Jupiter and Saturn, clouds and polar caps on Mars, as well as the dark details on Uranus and Neptune. ND-96-0.3 Neutral Density: A filter for the Moon, stacked with other planetary filters to increase density without changing color. A neutral density filter is also useful for separating binary star systems (double stars). Use it whenever you want to reduce the brightness without affecting the color of the object. Each Celestron 1.25 inch filter has a clear 26mm aperture and is mounted on a black anodized aluminum cell, threaded at both ends. The double thread allows the user to stack multiple filters to create a custom color or transmission rate. Each filter has special coatings to protect it from glare, ghosting and scratches. A plastic case is included to protect your filters when not in use.
