MATERIALBack in the early 1900s guitar picks were most commonly made from tortoise shell, Celluloid guitar picks were developed as the original alternative to tortoise shell, producing a similar feel and tone. While celluloid picks were originally made to look like tortoise shell they are now made in a full range of colours. Harmony Picks guitar picks are made from a premium celluloid. Our Animal print guitar picks are made from a solid White celluloid, making them perfect for printing our colourful designs on. |
THICKNESSThe thickness of a guitar pick makes a huge difference to playability and tone. The thicker a guitar pick is the less flexibility it has. Our guitar picks are 0.71mm Medium gauge. This is the most popular gauge (thickness) of guitar pick on the market, producing a great midrange tone. |
SHAPEGuitar picks are made in many different shapes and sizes. A larger pick while easier to hold on to, gives a lot less accuracy when strumming. Our picks are a standard 351 shape pick, 26mm wide and 30mm long. These are the most popular shape of guitar pick available because they are a good medium sized pick with a pointed tip giving more accuracy and dexterity in your playing. |
TEXTUREThe texture of a guitar pick makes a difference to the grip. Celluloid is a polished material, someone with very sweaty hands might find celluloid to be slippy. However, the printing method we use for our Animal Print guitar picks provides grip as the UV cured ink creates ridges on top of the pick. This is not only great for tiny hands just starting to learn but also for live performers who get sweaty on stage. |
