Crompton Lamps
Crompton Lamps is one of the oldest lamp businesses in the world, founded in 1878 by the late Colonel Crompton, an entrepreneur with an interest in electricity. He designed and installed some of the earliest recorded electric lighting installations at buildings such as Windsor Castle and Holyrood Palace.

High Intensity Discharge (HID) Lightbulbs
High Intensity Discharge lamps offer an energy-efficient way to brightly illuminate large spaces - such as street lighting, sports stadiums, indoor arenas and cinemas. They can also be used for indoor horticulture and aquariums, or even lighting residential and retail spaces. HID lamps work by sending an electrical discharge between two electrodes and through a plasma (ionised gas). The current is regulated by a ballast.
