I wantI want
Your child may benefit from visuals if:

  • they ask what’s coming next over and over again.
  • they struggle to follow instructions spoken out loud to them.
  • you would like to encourage them to be more independent.
  • they struggle with transitioning from one activity to the next.
  • they get frustrated because they cant communicate to you.

Why Use Visuals?

When children know what is happening in their day they feel more calm and in control. Visuals are an effective way of communicating to someone what is happening because they:

  • support routine and transition
  • dont disappear like words do
  • have no tone of voice
  • allow for processing time
  • are universal across all languages
  • can be transferred from place to place
  • give someone a voice, allowing them to communicate with you

We offer a range of visual resources to enhance communication and learning:
