This kit has been specially designed so children can create their own model solar system for a school project or craft activity and includes 12 different sized polystyrene spheres, 10 wooden rods, a set of 8 tubes of paint, synthetic paint brush and ring template for Saturn, together with a diagram of our solar system and handy hints and tips. The solid spheres in plain, white polystyrene are supplied in a selection of diameters from 2cm to 7cm for maximum versatility. The wooden rods are easy to trim to size and push into the spheres to allow the basic model to be constructed and children can paint and/or decorate them as they wish, using the water based paints (supplied). A template for Saturns ring is supplied for children to cut out, decorate and fit, as required. The set comprises: 10 x Wooden Rods 12 Spheres 2cm to 7cm 8 x 6ml tubes of paint red, yellow, ochre, blue, green, brown, white and black 1 x synthetic bristle paint brush The set will be supplied in a carton to ensure it is protected during transit. A diagram showing the planets of the solar system and their placement in relationship to the sun and other planets is included with this set together with handy suggestions and tips. However, it is also designed to encourage children to research the information they need for a homework project and use their artistic and hand eye co-ordination skills to decorate the planets and create the Solar system. As with all craft projects, adult supervision is recommended.
