How much time does my wallpaper steamer need to heat up?
Depending on the amount of water in the container, it can take up to 12 minutes for the system to generate steam. A full container generates steam for around 85 minutes.
How often do I have to discale my wallpaper steamer?
We recommend descaling our wallpaper steamers after every 6th use. How often you have to descale a device depends significantly on the water hardness. You can determine this using a water hardness test, which can be purchased in DIY stores or online.
My wallpaper steamer no longer heats up or switches off after a short time - what can I do?
If this happens, descale the device. Limescale can settle on the heating element and insulate it. As a result, the heating element can no longer give off sufficient heat to the water. The steamer switches itself off for safety reasons.
Is it helpful to make incisions in the wallpaper or to puncture it before removing it using steam?
In the case of multi-layered and painted wallpapers, incisions or perforations can ensure that the steam can penetrate through the layer. This makes the wallpaper peel off more easily.
