The Pressure-Flo line has been redesigned to improve performance and ease of use. A more powerful UV lamp coupled with improved mechanical and biological media provide the increased filtration capacity consumers demand.
New Laguna Pressure Flo filters include a variety of improvements to simplify the maintenance process and provide more powerful filtration. Starting with the handles of the filter and diverter valve, each has been redesigned and reinforced. Cleaning handles now feature an ergonomic grip with reinforced brush connections. The diverter valve has been redesigned and elongated to accommodate an improved system of cleaning indicators and makes the patented Backwash Cleaning System easier to use. The annual maintenance of UV bulbs has been simplified by improvements to the UVC head, the screws used to attach the unit head to the filter are permanently connected to the UVC head. No more missing screws or misplaced during maintenance.
Pressure-Flo features a revolutionary patented Easy Backwash Cleaning System that completely cleans the entire surface of mechanical media, and has had significant improvements making it now even easier to use than before.
The Pressure-Flo are designed to work in conjunction with a solids handling pump, ideally the Laguna Max-Flo waterfall and filter pump. With the filter connected to the pump, water enters the unit through a water inlet. It then passes through the mechanical filtration stage, which consists of very durable sponge filters that intercept and trap dirt and debris.
UVC LAMP REPLACEMENT: To maintain the optimal performance of the UVC lamp (B), it must be replaced every year. The ideal time to do this is spring, during pre-season maintenance of the pond use. Quartz Sleeve Cleaning: While only filtered water passes through the UVC section of the Pressure-Flo filter, the quartz sleeve (C) can be coated with calcareous tartar, which will decrease the performance of the UVC lamp (B). It is recommended to examine and clean the quartz sleeve (C) regularly. The frequency of cleaning depends on the conditions of the pond.
To access the UVC lamp (B) and quartz sleeve (C), follow these steps: 1. To turn off the UVC lamp, disconnect the appliance plug from the main power supply. 2. Turn off the pump that feeds the Pressure-Flo filter. 3. To disconnect all hoses from the appliance, release the "click-fit" couplings (press the button and pull). 4. To remove the UVC top cap (A) (fig. 5) from the filter, unscrew the 4 screws (J) securing it to the filter cover (G). UVC top cap includes anti-lost screws. No need to remove the screws completely. Simply unscrew them until the UVC top cap is unattached. 5. At this point it is possible to clean the quartz sleeve (C), if necessary. To do this, use a soft, damp cloth to remove calcareous tartar and debris. In case of dirt difficult to remove, you can use a little vinegar. Do not use detergents or other chemical cleaners. If there is no need to replace the UVC lamp, proceed to step #10. 6. To access the UVC lamp (B), remove the quartz sleeve (C). First, unscrew the lock bolt (K) from the flange ring (E) securing the sleeve to the UVC top cover about 3 turns. Then turn the flange ring approximately 30 degrees to the left until the screw matches the arrow present on the UVC top cap, and pull it to disengage it from place. IMPORTANT: The flange hoop includes an anti-lost security screw. No need to remove the screw completely. Simply unscrew the screw until the flange hoop is loose and can be disengaged from its place. 7. Use a slightly rotating motion to remove the quartz sleeve, including O-rings. 8. Once the quartz sleeve is removed, remove the UVC lamp (B) from the lamp holder (if it is not the first start-up) and replace it with a new one. WARNING: DO NOT ATtempt to look at the lamp when it is on. Direct exposure to ultraviolet light can damage eyes and skin. Do not test the UVC lamp unless the filter is fully assembled and closed. IMPORTANT: Always use genuine Laguna spare parts. Please refer to the Spare Parts List to correctly identify the number of parts. 9. Place the quartz sleeve (C) and the two O-rings (D) back to their original position. It is recommended to lubricate the O-rings with a suitable lubricant. IMPORTANT: The lamp damper (Y) that is inside the quartz sleeve must be between the lamp and the bottom of the quartz sleeve. Do not remove it. IMPORTANT: The two O-rings (D) of the quartz sleeve (C) must be replaced each time the appliance is opened.

Flange HoopPlace the flange ring (E) in its original position. Simply match the screw with the arrow and press the flange toward the UVC top cap, then turn the flange ring approximately 30 degrees clockwise in the direction of the lock bolt (K). At this point, screw the lock bolt (K) to adjust the flange ring (fig. 7, fig. 8 and fig. 9). |
Rotator Sleeve VerificationCheck the quartz sleeve (C) to make sure it is not damaged. Check that all components are present and have been properly reassembled. If in doubt, please consult with Laguna product distributor. |
Fixing quartz sleevePlace the UVC top cap (A) back over the filter cover (G), and ensure that the inner O-ring (F) is properly positioned before attaching the screws (J) to the UVC top cap. |
