Appearing in private practice a few weeks before the start of the 2001 Monte-Carlo rally, the new Impreza WRC caused a certain surprise, being a four-door sedan. Its development will be much longer than expected, and after a year of competition, the Subaru Prodrive team wanted to confirm at the Tour de Corse 2002 the potential of the car on asphalt.
