Description

Published in October 2014, Jazz Moods is an exciting collection of 7 Original pieces for Bb or Eb Saxophone and Piano. The book includes a UNIVERSAL Sax part, and TWO Piano parts (so no screeching up the top end constantly for poor Tenor!). The book includes Blues, Ballad, Latin, and Swing styles; Parade of Dudes, Tune for Joey, Launch the Raunch, Love is an Enigma, Rio Girl, Aint no use complainin, and Sunny Sundays. An audio medley can be heard here; https://soundcloud.com/masquerademusic/jazz-moods-andy-hampton-audio-medley "I really enjoyed playing through these pieces, and even indulged in a bit of karaoke with the excellent CD. This is a lovely collection of pieces which will appeal to all ages of saxophonist. If you or your pupils enjoyed Andy Hamptons Between a Rock and a Hard Place (grade 6 alto sax) then I think the ballads Tune for Joey, and Love is an Enigma will be particularly desirable. The Latin and jazz pieces are also very good. Parade of Dudes has a good piano groove which sets the piece up well. the piano parts are fairly accessible; you wont need to be a concert pianist to be able to play them and if you dont have access to a pianist or a piano then theres always the CD. There are two piano parts so that the sax part remains universal and the accompanist has the key changes. The differing styles will attract those players who would like to play something more contemporary, packaged in a very smart volume of well-written, sensibly articulated solos".
